Keeping your drinks cold on those hot days is the #1 priority when enjoying all the best times with friends and family. Now you may think any cooler will work great, but you might not realize that some coolers perform much better than others.
Let’s say it’s 95 degrees outside, and you decided to bring your Igloo cooler. It’s a cheaper cooler and has a large capacity for drinks. You loaded up your drinks with all the ice that you could fit. An hour in, and you go for another drink. All of the ice is gone! Not really what you expected with your recent purchase.
What could you have done differently? Well, some insulated coolers are sometimes built differently. The Igloo cooler is designed with a blow-molded polypropylene shell and contains styrofoam or spray foam. This design tends to hold less ice retention. Because of this, the ice will melt faster on those hot summer days. Now, let's compare it to a Brumate or Yeti cooler. These higher-grade coolers are made of thicker high-density polyethylene (plastic), which holds higher ice for much longer. And because of the design, these coolers are more durable than the generic grocery store coolers you find on the shelf.
What Is A Brumate Brutank Cooler?
The Brumate Brutank Cooler is one of the most innovative coolers on the market. With over 10+ colors to choose from, Brumate offers a design for everyone! It is ideal for tailgating or weekend camping trips. The Brumate Brutank offers many great features not normally seen on insulated coolers.
What Is A Yeti Cooler?
The Yeti Tundra Haul Wheeled Cooler offers an easy way to transport goods to family picnics and that perfect tailgating spot. Yeti has been a household name for years now as their marketing department has done an excellent job building a brand revolving around a lifestyle.
Which Is Better, Brumate Brutank Or Yeti?
How are these two coolers comparable? Both offer a compact but versatile design, all-terrain wheels, and an easy-to-grab handle when walking long distances. The Brutank and the Tundra Haul offer are that they are very easy to clean when dirty. They both offer a non-slip base to keep your cooler from rolling around in the bed of your truck or boat.
But there are a couple of things that the Brumate offers that the Yeti does not. The Brutank includes a removable dry rack to store anything you want to keep dry but keep ice cold. Yeti also offers a dry basket, but it is a separate purchase option. The Brutank includes a self-tapping removable drink tank capable of holding 2.8 gallons of your favorite adult beverage or mixed drink. It also contains a built-in drink dispenser to allow easy access to the drink tank. So no need to reach inside the cooler to refill! Unfortunately, the Yeti does not have this option. The lid latches are very similar, with their rubber design. But the Brutank has two built-in bottle openers! So no more worrying if you can crack open that bottle! The Brutank offers various colors, from Wild Berry or Alpine Swirl to simple yet clean Ice White or OD Green. The Yeti Tundra Haul only has four colors: White, Navy, Tan, and Nordic Purple.
Size
Looking at the size dimensions, the Brutank and the Tundra Haul are very similar in size. The Brumate is longer and wider than the Yeti, but not by much. They’re both compact in size to help save space when traveling long distances.

Wrapping Things Up
Overall, these two coolers are a must-have for traveling. They offer fantastic versatility when you’re taking a trip to the beach or camping over the weekend. They both come with a 5-year warranty and keep your ice cold for days on end. When it comes to durability, the coolers can take a beating. With aggressive latches and an easy way to tie them down, no one (or animal) is breaking into them. You can not go wrong with the Brumate or Yeti!
The key factor to them all: price. These two compare very well and offer days of cold ice, but the Brutank comes in at $399.99, and the Tundra Haul is $450.00. It may not sound like a huge difference, but some of the key features included in the Brutank might change your mind. With the removable dry rack, the built-in drink tank, and the tap (one of the best things I have ever used), the Brutank takes the win. You can’t go wrong with the lower price point and the many features that it offers.
